Maldives scoops the World Travel AwardsMaldives was crowned the Indian Oceans leading destination at the awards.
Several resorts in Maldives won the prestigious world travel awards held at Shanghai, China on 19th June 2008. Maldives was crowned the “Indian Oceans leading destination” at the awards.
In the regional categories Kurumba Island resort won the Indian oceans leading resort, Rangali Island won the Indian oceans leading hotel. Baros Island won the Indian oceans leading villas category.
In the national category Kurumba Island won the double categories of Maldives Leading Resort and Maldives Leading Resort and Spa while Adaaran Prestige Water Villas won in the Maldives Leading Water Villas category.
Maldives also won in the Leading Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport (Male International Airport) Category. Maldives Tourism Board accepted the award on behalf the Maldives tourism industry.
World Travel Awards is the most significant award in recognising the excellence in service and standards within the Travel and Hospitality Industry world wide.
